Mango and Tikka

Mango and Tikka

MANGO & TIKKA

There’s a new power couple in town, ladies and gentlemen. Let me introduce you to Mango and Tikka, a mother and daughter duo. It’s only appropriate that these girls have names that conjure up images of exotic spices and flavors. Their hair is the color of spiced pumpkin chai, and they want to be the life of your party. Mango is 4 years old and short-haired, and Tikka is 1 year old with the gorgeous wild patch of long hair down her neck. Tikka is a little more shy and timid than her mama, but they’ve both come out of their shells so much since being in their foster home. They now love running around with their foster siblings, and they’re always playful and affectionate with each other. Whether they’re playing in the backyard or snuggling in bed, wherever you find one, you’re sure to find the other. These two share a very precious bond. They’ll be the first to get in line to greet you when you come through the door, and they’ll anxiously await your return when you leave. They shadow their foster mom constantly. They want nothing more than to be on you or near you from the moment you sit down. Their favorite time of day is getting into bed to sleep with you. They win the award for best snugglers. These girls came from a hoarding situation, and they are so grateful for their newfound comforts and all the attention they’re receiving. They just love to nuzzle their foster mom and each other. Because of their previous living situation, they are just now learning about potty training. But, they are very motivated by food and positive reinforcement. A home that will be extremely gentle and patient with them, and a home without small children, is a must. They’ve also been getting exposure to lots of new experiences, like shopping in stores, farmers markets, and hiking. They’re a little more wary of men (especially Tikka), but they’re becoming more and more trusting with time. If you’re looking for double the affection, and double the fun, these are the girls for you.

All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Their adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at caws.org.

ADOPTED! – Bitty

ADOPTED! – Bitty

Hello, I’m Bitty. I’m a wonderful cat & I love people. I’m the official greeter at my foster home because I want to get to know everyone that comes to visit. I really enjoy a scratch and a pet and I will follow you just about anywhere to keep them coming. I’ll also hang out with you in the bathroom as you get ready for the day.

Along with being so friendly & outgoing, I’m silky, petite and ladylike. I’m often told I’m a Velcro-kitty because I love to snuggle with my humans for quiet time. I also adore my very best friend in the whole world… her name is Costco & we’ve always been together so we’ll need to be adopted together.

All the regular good stuff applies here: I use a litter box appropriately, I’m not a picky (as long as you don’t try to give me milk, cat treats or seafood…yuck) and I’m friendly with kids. I do not like dogs though so please no dogs in my forever home.

ADOPTED! Molly

ADOPTED! Molly

Molly is the featured pet for August!

Our Molly girl is now 8 years old, perfect 40 pound weight, Australian Shepherd. She is utterly the sweetest, purest heart, gentle dog you could ever ask for. She is like the middle child; you don’t even know she’s there. She lies on the floor in a bed minding her own business, occasionally coming to you for a pet or love. She does come when it’s feeding time though. Molly is diabetic and we’ve got her insulin dose figured out. A couple blood tests show she’s doing well, no other worries. Molly knows sit and shake. She is such a smart girl! And did I mention she gives the GREATEST kisses? She is house and crate trained. Molly gets along wonderfully with all 4 legged doggies, big and small, male and female. I think we’ve cat tested her and she doesn’t mind cats either. Molly doesn’t show any signs of arthritis or limping, whew. She is trusted to be left out in the house during the day while her 4 legged people work or run errands. We’ve taken Molly to the eye ophthalmologist. She does have cataracts so is on a daily eye drop. Not the best of sight but she isn’t blind either and gets around wonderfully.

Diabetes is very manageable and not too expensive. She gets WD prescription dog food twice a day and an insulin shot after each meal. A piece of chicken is her treat. She is such a trooper to get her shots. Diabetes sounds scary but it really isn’t, it’s just a commitment. Please email to meet this beautiful, innocent girl. We know she’ll steal your heart like she has stolen ours!

All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at caws.org.

ADOPTED! Suzie

ADOPTED! Suzie

Our featured adoptable animal for July is Suzie!

This sweet blue eyed girl is looking for a home she can relax in. She’s a quiet girl who loves naps, full body rub downs, and soft toys laced with cat nip to roll around with. So far in her foster home she seems nervous around other cats and dogs and hides mostly when they are around. She isn’t aggressive with them at all and would do better with other animals that are willing to give her her own space.

Molly has found her forever home!

Our featured animal of the month is Molly!

Molly is such a loving and sweet cat! With her gentle, quiet soul it may take her a minute to feel comfortable but once she does, she just wanted to be near her humans. She really enjoys getting loves and pets along being brushed. She has a lovely muted meow that she doesn’t use often. She is as beautiful, with bright green eyes & wonderful tiger tabby markings on her face.

She’s still a curious senior and like to play with toy mice and balls. She is good with older children that are respectful. She also likes other cats. She has always been with her brother, Pete, so they must be adopted together. They would prefer a quiet home where they will be loved and cherished forever cats.

Animals are not placed on a first come, first serve basis.  CAWS strives to find the perfect match for all of our animals.

ADOPTED!

Our adoptable animal for January is Emma!

Looking for love and a nice couch to snooze on… Emma is a 5 year old, 50 pound Pit Bull. Emma loves to meet new people, especially if they have treats! She gets the zoomies when she is excited to see you and will race around the house when you come home. Emma does well with other dogs, but needs proper introduction and time to decompress to live happily. Tug of war is her favorite game, next to a good wrestling match with the other dogs! Emma likes to snuggle and sometimes forgets that she isn’t a tiny lap dog! Emma does not like cats. She LOVES kids and is very calm even around high energy. Emma walks beautifully on leash and is very in tune to her handler. She is house and crate trained. She has some food allergies and will need to be on a high quality food and daily medication. Her allergies are not anything to be concerned by! There are many foods in varying price points that she does well on. Emma is an easy going girl once settled into a new environment. She needs a little patience and a lot of love, and when given those, Emma will gladly be your soulmate and couch-mate for years to come.

Our adoptable animal for February is Abbey!

Hi, my name is Abbey and I’m sure you’ll agree I have the most adorable face. I am very independent most of the time but when I am ready for attention, I love to curl up on your lap or next to you and take a nap. I am really sweet girl but sometimes I like to have alone time. I never bite or scratch though, I just find a quiet corner to be by myself. I’ll choose attention and love over playing every time.

Our featured adoptable animal for April is Lady!

Lady is a sweet and fun girl who loves to snuggle. She is a 6 year old, 50 pound Pit Bull. She knows basic commands, is kennel trained and dog door trained. A little timid around new people but she does warm up quickly and then is incredibly loving. Lady thinks she is a lap dog at times and wants to be up close to you. She has to have a blanket or pillow on the floor to sleep on, like the princess she is! Lady is good with children. Some of her favorite things include belly rubs, giving kisses and taking walks. Lady does need to be the only pet in the home. If you are interested in adding a loving companion to your family, look no further!
